About the project
The EBRD and FAO are supporting Serbia in drafting its national Irrigation Strategy and the related five-year Action Plan, and identifying priority irrigation investments.
The project aims to increase agricultural productivity and climate change resilience via enhanced and newly developed irrigation networks. The Assignment is organized around two main components: (i) engaging and supporting stakeholders to prepare the Strategy and related five-year Action Plan; and (ii) preparing the Investment Atlas, which identifies and maps priority irrigation investments.
Component 1. Engage and support stakeholders to prepare the Irrigation Development Strategy of the Republic of Serbia and a related five-year Action Plan
The scope of Component 1 is to support Serbia in developing a national strategy that will ensure sustainable, demand driven and efficient irrigation for enhanced and climate smart agriculture.
Component 2. Identify and map priority irrigation investments
The process will involve the active participation of institutional and private sector stakeholders. Investments will be prioritized in the “Investment Atlas”.
The Strategy and Action Plan will be drafted in accordance with the Law on the Planning System of the Republic of Serbia (“Official Gazette of RS”, No. 30/18).
