Workshop “Irrigation in Serbia – Statistical overview and main methods applied“
It is often said that Serbia is among the last rated European countries in terms of the percentage of irrigated areas, but is that really the case? How much land does Serbia really irrigate? Who are the users of the irrigation systems? Which agricultural crops do they irrigate and what methods do they use?
Answers to these questions were provided by UN FAO representatives Milos Milovanović, PhD, Specialist in Agricultural Policy, Steve Goss, PhD, Specialist in Irrigation Policy, and Zoran Knežević, National Expert for Irrigation, together with over 80 participants in the workshop ” Irrigation in Serbia – Statistical overview and main methods applied ”, which was held on July 28, 2021, on the Zoom platform.
